Andrew Freedman, President
I have lived in Wash West for over 30 years. I am a manufacturers sales rep in the craft industry. Our son grew up here as a Center City kid. I have watched the amazing development of our neighborhood and SPDOA’s enrichment to it. Our bearded collie, Malo, is our third dog. My goal for SPDOA is to grow the membership and partner with local businesses, while maintaining the park at a high level.
Mike Pavol, Vice President
Mike lives with his wife, son, their dog Ripley, three cats, and one fish that won't die in South Philadelphia. He is an artist, originally from Phoenix, AZ, studied architecture at Virginia Tech, and has lived in Philadelphia since 1987.
Caitlin Hoffman, Board Member
I am originally from Boston, MA and have been living in Philadelphia for the last four years. After I graduated from Penn State (We Are!), I volunteered for a year in Honduras at a public hospital. After that, I found myself working at the Philadelphia Health Department in STD/HIV control. The park has really helped develop a sense of community for me and I feel proud to be able to work towards common goals with others in my neighborhood. In the future, I hope to help facilitate membership, stress the importance of contribution to this park and continue making new friends. You can see me at the park often, most likely throwing the ball for my fetch-obsessed labradoodle Kingsley.
Yoninah Orenstein, Secretary
Yoninah originally hails from Montreal but has embraced her new found Philly roots and goes by Yo. Dog-lover since birth, Yo is thrilled to share her home with Miles, the rambunctious wheaten you may recognize from such adventures as hogging the Seger water bowl and winning dirtiest dog contests. Yo enjoys spending time at Seger as much as Miles and is eager to give back to the community by serving as the Secretary of the dog park. And by giving back she is literally referring to the mulch and leaves Miles brings home with him without fail after every visit to Seger.
Ben Eichel, Legal Adviser
I grew up just outside of Philadelphia with two rescues and knew that I would want one of my own when the time was right. After years of pleading to Yoninah (my then girlfriend and now wife) that we were ready for a dog, we “rescued” a wheaten named Miles from a breeder in Central Pennsylvania. When we first brought Miles home Seger was the perfect place for him to get all of his energy out for and his parents to meet other dog owners experienced in dealing with a crazy puppy. We live in Hawthorne and we are both attorneys.
Collin Weir, Treasurer
I grew up a few miles south of Philadelphia and completed my undergraduate and master’s degree in accounting at Drexel University. I moved into the Washington Square West neighborhood in the fall of 2015 with my girlfriend, Chelsea, and our English Bulldog, Zeke. We are so grateful for the Seger Dog Park so Zeke can make friends and be active while living in the city. He enjoys meeting new people as much as meeting new dogs. You can always find us in the park on the weekends.
Seth Hanes, Social Media Chair
Banjo and I are at the park just about everyday and I'm totally thrilled to serve on the board where I contribute my expertise as a digital marketing consultant to help keep all of our members informed with what's going on around the park. I'm originally from South Carolina but have lived in Philadelphia since 2008 when I moved here to pursue a music degree at Temple University. You can find Banjo and I at the park everyday and look forward to meeting more members of the park.
Dana Stone, Membership
I have lived in Philadelphia for 3 years and am currently a med student here at Temple. Me and Sky hang at the park pretty much every day, it's the perfect place for Sky to run around and play with her many dog friends. You can usually find me either studying or more often, trying to stop Sky from eating the mulch. Seger park is a great community of both dogs and dog lovers and we are very happy to be a part of it.
