Avi Wisnia is an award-winning composer, singer, performer and educator, finding inspiration in Brazilian bossa nova, acoustic American folk, 1950’s west-coast jazz, and contemporary pop. Imagine John Legend meets Sara Bareilles, if they had a lovechild in Brazil. Avi tours in support of his latest album, "Catching Leaves," performing in prestigious venues around the world – from the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City to The Kennedy Center in Washington DC to concerts in Poland, Japan, and Brazil. Avi Wisnia regularly performs at renown local rooms such as World Cafe Live and City Winery, with special concert events at the Philadelphia Folk Festival and The Kimmel Center. The songwriter has appeared alongside artists such as Maroon 5, Arturo Sandoval, The Roots, and Ani DiFranco, and his music has been featured on TV and in featured films. Avi Wisnia was most recently named Musician of the Year by Bucks Happening Magazine, and Outstanding Keyboard Player of the Year at the Montgomery-Bucks Music Awards in Pennsylvania. His latest single “Sky Blue Sky” was recorded via satellite between Philadelphia and Brazil, winning recognition from the Philadelphia Songwriters Project and MidAtlantic Songwriters Competition. In addition to being a performing songwriter, Avi Wisnia has also given a TED talk and performed with The Moth storytellers.
